Softball Game Preview: Solon Comets vs. Twinsburg Tigers

The Solon Comets will face off against the Twinsburg Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Solon fell victim to North Royalton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 1-0. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Gerhard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Twinsburg). They walked away with a 13-10 victory over Nordonia on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Twinsburg pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Solon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
