Softball Recap: Owego Free Academy River Hawks vs. Waverly Wolverines
After flying high against Oneonta on Wednesday, Owego Free Academy came back down to earth. The River Hawks fell 11-6 to the Waverly Wolverines on Thursday. The River Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Carsten Crawford was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Crawford wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Geneva Crawford, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Another was Joslyn Space, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Owego Free Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Waverly, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.
