Basketball Recap: Fullerton Gets the Win

Shelby-Rising City came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Fullerton, but Kane Wetovick wouldn't allow it. The Fullerton Warriors blew past the Shelby-Rising City Huskies, posting a 63-34 win thanks in part to Wetovick, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points in addition to seven assists and five blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in blocks.

Shelby-Rising City lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nixon Thelen, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Thelen, who put up 11 points.

The victory got Fullerton back to even at 4-4. As for Shelby-Rising City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Fullerton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ansley/Litchfield at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for Shelby-Rising City, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-29 victory against Cedar Bluffs on the 31st.
