Basketball Game Preview: Mankato West Scarlets vs. Stewartville Tigers

The Mankato West Scarlets will head out on the road to face off against the Stewartville Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Stewartville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mankato West, who comes in off a win.

Mankato West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Hutchinson by a score of 73-63 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Stewartville faced Byron in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The contest between Stewartville and Byron didn't end well, with Stewartville falling 73-56. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Stewartville's defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Mankato West, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Mankato West came up short against Stewartville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 61-55. Can Mankato West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
