Creyton Roup Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Mound City's Creyton Roup, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Roup rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending a pass.
For the year, Roup has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 101.1 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 9.57 rushing yards per game.

Brock Holmes Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Brock Holmes was instrumental in extending Rock Port's winning streak to eight on Friday. Holmes made a major impact, rushing for 161 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (104.4).
Rock Port's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Holmes and Rock Port will venture away from home to challenge South Nodaway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Corbyn Jakub and Co. Win Eighth in a Row
Rock Port picked up their eighth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Corbyn Jakub. Jakub did his part (and then some), rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 101 yards on five of 14 attempts for the 'W'.
Jakub is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against South Nodaway on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jakub saw the Longhorns), he picked up 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] had to settle for second on Friday, but Owen DeRosier sure wasn't going down easily. Rock Port had no answer to DeRosier as he picked up 91 receiving yards, and also threw for 60 yards and a touchdown on only five passes.
On the season, DeRosier has averaged 47.5 receiving yards per game.

Kane Derr Makes It Two for Mound City
The second Mound City player making an appearance here is Kane Derr, and for good reason. He rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown.
