Basketball Recap: Mormon Trail Takes a Loss

Mormon Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 62-40 to the Martensdale-St. Mary's Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 123rd).

Mormon Trail's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Martensdale-St. Mary's, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Mormon Trail will face off against Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on February 10th. As for Martensdale-St. Mary's, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-25 victory against Wayne on the 4th.
