Volleyball Recap: Laura Tiller Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Spring Valley

West Florence won the last time they faced Spring Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

West Florence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Florence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laura Tiller, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most digs Tiller has posted over her last seven matches. Another player making a difference was Addison Pusser, who had nine assists and eight digs.

They weren't the only good servers: West Florence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Spring Valley lost, don't look at Malaya Dewey. Despite the final result, she had 27 digs and three aces. Dewey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Carolyn Miro also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

West Florence's record now sits at 13-8. As for Spring Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-20-1.

As of now, neither West Florence nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
