            Baseball Recap: West Carroll Thunder vs. Lena-Winslow Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            West Carroll extended their losing streak  to 16  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They came up short against  the Lena-Winslow Panthers, falling  13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Thunder have lost by  exactly ten  runs.
 West Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Chanse Schnitzler, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs.
As for Lena-Winslow, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record  this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six  runs or more this season.
 On Lena-Winslow's side,  Luke Madigan was  incredible,  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances with three  RBI and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  Madigan has posted since back in March.  Brody Cox was another key player,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Carroll will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Dubuque at 4:30  p.m.  on  the 12th. As for Lena-Winslow, they will square off against Durand/Pecatonica at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Rivermen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.06  runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
