Soccer Recap: Cypress Ridge Comes Up Short

Cypress Ridge lost against Memorial back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cypress Ridge Rams lost 5-1 to the Memorial Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Mustangs are ranked 140th).

This is the second loss in a row for Cypress Ridge and nudges their season record down to 6-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-6 Cy-Fair (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.3% over those games). As for Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Cypress Ridge will take on Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Memorial, they will face off against Cy-Fair at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cy-Fair will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Memorial surely won't give up without a fight.
