Softball Recap: Swain County Beats Tuscola for Their Sixth Straight Win

Swain County never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Tuscola Mountaineers with a sharp 6-0 win. The Maroon Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Rylee Rawls, who gave up just six hits and racked up six Ks to keep Tuscola off the board. Rawls has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carley Teesateskie, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Shuler, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory (which was Swain County's sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tuscola, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
