Football Game Preview: Warren Township Blue Devils vs. Lake Zurich Bears + How To Watch

The Warren Township Blue Devils will head out to square off against the Lake Zurich Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Warren Township sitting on five straight victories and Lake Zurich on six.

Warren Township gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 win over Stevenson. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Aaron Stewart continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 183 yards and four TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 16th straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Warren Township was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Warren Township didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Javon Brisker, Michael Lingenfelser, and Royce Lopez picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Lake Zurich never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Mundelein, posting a 35-0 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Warren Township better keep an eye on Christopher Chang. He was instrumental in Lake Zurich's win, picking up 135 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Warren Township's record is now 6-1. As for Lake Zurich, their record now sits at an identical 6-1.

Warren Township beat Lake Zurich 10-3 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
