Mt. Vernon waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cassville Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Mountaineers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mt. Vernon took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-5, 25-15.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 19-6-2. As for Cassville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-20-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mt. Vernon will challenge Carthage at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cassville, they will take on Aurora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
