Baseball Game Preview: Seton Hall Prep Pirates vs. Ridge Red Devil

The Seton Hall Prep Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Ridge Red Devil at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seton Hall Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Seton Hall Prep's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Caldwell as they made off with a 9-0 win. Considering the Pirates have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Ridge's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Somerville. The win continues a trend for the Red Devil in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won six in a row.

Seton Hall Prep pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Seton Hall Prep took their win against Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
