Softball Recap: Ronan Comes Up Short

Laurel hit Ronan with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chiefs lost 11-1 to the Locomotives. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Locomotives apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

This is the second loss in a row for Ronan and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Laurel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Ronan is taking a road trip to square off against Butte Central Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Maroons have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Laurel, they will square off against Beaverhead County at 2:45 p.m. on Friday.
