Preview: Patapsco Patriots vs. New Town
Patapsco has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on New Town at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Patapsco suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2023 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 85-50 defeat at the hands of Overlea. While losing is never fun, Patapsco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Overlea is ranked 102nd).
Meanwhile, New Town's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Roosevelt 67-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Patapsco has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for New Town, they have fallen quite a ways from their 25-3 record last season and are now at 4-10.
Patapsco took a serious blow against New Town when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 92-33. Can Patapsco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
