Basketball Recap: Macarthur's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

MacArthur entered their matchup against Sacred Heart-Griffin on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The MacArthur Generals fell 55-48 to the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-47 back in December of 2024.

MacArthur's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.

MacArthur will head out on the road to square off against Mattoon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they will welcome Mahomet-Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mahomet-Seymour has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
