Preview: Marysville Indians vs. Center Cougars

Two dominant players in Dennis Syders and Terrill Reid are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Marysville Indians will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Center Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Marysville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Sutter by a score of 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Marysville has suffered yet this season.

Meanwhile, Center came up short against Bear River on Wednesday and fell 60-51. Center has not had much luck with Bear River recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Center's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Reid, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Dominic Johnson who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Reid's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Nisi, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.

Marysville's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Marysville was able to grind out a solid win over Center when the teams last played on January 5th, winning 54-46. Does Marysville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Center turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
