Baseball Recap: Sperry Pirates vs. Claremore Zebras
After flying high against Sequoyah last Thursday, Sperry came back down to earth. The Sperry Pirates took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Claremore Zebras on Saturday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Zebras apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Sperry got a good showing from Isaac Sherill, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Sperry now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Claremore, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sperry will venture away from home to square off against Bristow at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Claremore, they are taking a road trip to challenge Booker T. Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
