Basketball Recap: Central Columbia Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Central Columbia couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell to the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES 57-52. The Bluejays have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Mount Carmel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Delaney out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Delaney is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Balichik, who went 5-for-8 en route to 16 points.

Central Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Mount Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Central Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Carmel, they will head out to face off against Eastern York at 7:00 p.m. on March 7th. Mount Carmel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
