Recap: Boulder City Eagles vs. Sports Leadership & Management Bulls
The Boulder City Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Sports Leadership & Management by a score of 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Boulder City has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Boulder City still got an impressive performance from Julia Carmichael, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Doane, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Tavara Swonger was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds for Sports Leadership & Management. Swonger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Michael Ross was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Boulder City has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Sports Leadership & Management, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boulder City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Wednesday. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will head out on the road to face off against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Sports Leadership & Management's offense will have their work cut out for them.
