Recap: Chief Paul Memorial Falcons vs. Kongiganak Wolverines
The Chief Paul Memorial Falcons lost against the Kongiganak Wolverines back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Chief Paul Memorial took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kongiganak. Chief Paul Memorial has not had much luck with Kongiganak recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Chief Paul Memorial still got an impressive performance from Charly Peter, who scored 20 points. Peter continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Erica Paul was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Carson Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for Kongiganak as she scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maegan Miller, who scored ten points.
Chief Paul Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Kongiganak, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Chief Paul Memorial will head out on the road to take on Kongiganak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alaska (Kongiganak is ranked 11th, while Chief Paul Memorial is ranked 29th). As for Kongiganak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chief Paul Memorial at 6:00 p.m.
