Football Recap: Westwood Piles Up the Points Against Liberty + How To Watch

After only six points in their last game, Westwood made sure to put some points up on the board against Liberty on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Chargers, posting a 40-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three contests by 33 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Westwood's win came down to the chemistry between Joseph Weather Jr. and his top target Jermaine Walker. Weather Jr. threw for 248 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes while Walker gained 189 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Walker a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (three).

Westwood's defense made their presence known, laying out Yael Estevez three times. Gregory Merrick was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Another thorn in Liberty's side was Keondre Ward, who made 23 total tackles.

The victory got Westwood back to even at 4-4. As for Liberty, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Westwood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-16 win against South Fork on the 24th. As for Liberty, they have also already played their next game, a 38-0 defeat against Poinciana on the 24th.
