Lakeview extended their winning streak to nine on Friday, bumping them up to 9-0. They came out on top against the O'Neill Eagles by a score of 29-19. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Lakeview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylin Viergutz led the charge by throwing for 112 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 39 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lakeview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as O'Neill only rushed for 82.

Having lost for the first time this season, O'Neill fell to 8-1. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Braxen Eichelberger and Turner Heiss certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Eichelberger picked up 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Heiss threw for 218 yards and a pair of TDs. Heiss also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 12 total tackles and defending one pass.

Lakeview and O'Neill are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Vikings will welcome Boys Town at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview will need to watch out since the Cowboys have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for O'Neill, they will take on Mount Michael Benedictine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Eichelberger and Jedd Ramold.
