Clinton's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lakewood Leopards, sneaking past 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Dark Horses in their matchups with the Leopards: they've now won six in a row.

Krislyn Bryant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Niah Torres was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Da'Niyah Coxum, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Lakewood, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Clinton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Heide Trask on the 21st. As for Lakewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against East Columbus on the 23rd.
