Football Recap: Oakmont Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 31 points the game before, Oakmont was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a blow against the St. Genevieve Valiants, falling 42-13. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Although Oakmont took the loss, they still got scores from Ocean Mu?oz and Nico Smith.

It was another big night for Michael Wynn, who threw for 303 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown for St. Genevieve. That's the most rushing yards Wynn has posted since back in October of 2024. Matthew Gonzalez was another key player, rushing for 66 yards and one score on only eight carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Oakmont and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for St. Genevieve, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Oakmont has already played their next matchup, a 29-28 victory against Marysville on the 24th. As for St. Genevieve, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-8 win against St. Bernard on the 24th.
