Basketball Recap: Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes vs. Memorial Day Matadors

Coastal HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 58-26 defeat at the hands of the Memorial Day Matadors. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Matadors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Annabel Sanchez was Coastal HomeSchool's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Clemy Baladi held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Memorial Day got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Johnkeria Miles out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals. Miles is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Lillie Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Coastal HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Memorial Day, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coastal HomeSchool has already played their next contest, a 71-16 loss against Frederica Academy on the 6th. As for Memorial Day, they will welcome Bridges Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial Day has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
