Baseball Recap: Rockport's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Rockport had lost eight games straight , but after bumping their record up to 3-12 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Danvers Falcons get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Vikings not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4th (when they won 15-1).

As for Danvers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly six runs.

For Danvers' part, Dylan Weeks was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave Weeks a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Danvers saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Hamel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockport will venture away from home to face off against Hamilton-Wenham Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Danvers, they will head out to challenge Peabody Veterans Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
