Baseball Recap: East Central Takes a Loss

East Central fell victim to Mt. Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 on Saturday.

Cole Reynolds made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for East Central and nudges their season record down to 16-9. As for Mt. Vernon, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, East Central will challenge Whiteland at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Mt. Vernon, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Richmond on the 28th.
