Baseball Game Preview: DuBois Beavers vs. Bethel Park Black Hawks

The DuBois Beavers will take on the Bethel Park Black Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

DuBois is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Meadville get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Beavers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alex Sago tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Noah Farrell was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Dinkfelt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Bethel Park and Peters Township, and Bethel Park kept the tradition alive. The Black Hawks were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Indians on Tuesday.

Bethel Park's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for DuBois, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.
