Soccer Recap: Meadville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bradford last Wednesday, Meadville came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the McDowell Trojans by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. One reason for the loss might be Meadville's aggressive play style: Seamus Miller and Tristan Tinko were both handed yellow cards.

Graham Shellhaas wasn't going to let McDowell walk away unscathed as he scored both of Meadville's goals, bringing his season total up to 17 goals.

Meadville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for McDowell, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Meadville didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, an 11-0 victory against Oil City on the 18th. As for McDowell, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-1 win against Franklin on the 18th.
