Recap: Lakeside Panthers vs. Aquinas Fightin' Irish
The Lakeside Panthers won the last time they faced the Aquinas Fightin' Irish, and things went their way on Friday too. Lakeside claimed a resounding 56-19 win over Aquinas at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lakeside.
Asunti Porter was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 26 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Elise Graybill, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Aquinas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elle Morris, who scored 6 points.
Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Aquinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Lakeside will take on Josey at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Josey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Lakeside is ranked 35th). As for Aquinas, they will be playing at home against Edmund Burke Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Edmund Burke Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday.
