Baseball Game Preview: Council Grove Braves vs. Cheney Cardinals

The Council Grove Braves will head out on the road to challenge the Cheney Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

Council Grove will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Marion, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Braves were the clear victors by a 23-5 margin over the Warriors on Tuesday. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cheney was able to grind out a solid win over Varsity Opponent on Thursday, taking the game 5-2.

Cheney saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Eastman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Council Grove pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10 runs thus far. As for Cheney, their record is now 6-2.

Council Grove skirted past Cheney 5-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
