Basketball Recap: Dexter Comes Up Short

Dexter was the 69-53 winner over Hagerman when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Dexter Demons took a blow against the Hagerman Bobcats on Tuesday, falling 74-18. The Demons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hagerman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jevon Aguilar, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. The matchup was Aguilar's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Aguilar, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Dexter and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Hagerman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Dexter will venture away from home to challenge Goddard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Dexter is facing Goddard at the right time seeing as Goddard is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hagerman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hagerman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Grady likes a good challenge.
