Football Recap: Sterling Falls to Goose Creek Memorial in First Game of Season

Sterling had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots, falling 42-20. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Goose Creek Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alijah Bright, who rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Bright really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. Joshua Babin also helped with three TDs in total.

Coming up, Sterling will square off against Galena Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they will face off against Lee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
