Baseball Recap: Mountain Grove Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Mountain Grove duked it out with Thayer on Thursday. The Panthers lost 6-0 to the Bobcats. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Mountain Grove got a good showing from Briar Parsons, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The Panthers are 2-1 when Parsons allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mountain Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Haughey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Mountain Grove has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Thayer, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Mountain Grove has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Conway on the 11th. As for Thayer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-7 defeat against Willow Springs on the 14th.
