Basketball Preview: Dr. Krop Lightning vs. Varela Vipers
Dr. Krop has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Varela Vipers at TBD on Tuesday. Varela took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dr. Krop, who comes in off a win.
Even though Dr. Krop has not done well against the Hi-Tides recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Dr. Krop walked away with a 72-65 victory over the Hi-Tides. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Joseph Washington continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-7 from deep and dropping a double-double on 36 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Emmanuel Ferguson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Varela's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 56-49 to Southwest.
The victory got Dr. Krop back to even at 10-10. As for Varela, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.
