Baseball Game Preview: Corona Panthers vs. Roosevelt Mustangs

For the second straight game, Corona will face off against Roosevelt. The Panthers will welcome the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Corona has six straight victories, Roosevelt has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Corona's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Roosevelt by a score of 5-0.

The team relied heavily on Anthony Murphy, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Brady Ebel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Corona hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Corona pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.
