The Catalina Foothills Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Maricopa Rams at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Catalina Foothills will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Friday, Catalina Foothills needed a bit of extra time to put away Mica Mountain. They had just enough and edged out the Thunderbolts 3-2.

Ganon Dwyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Dwyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nate Shoemaker, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Cooper Kruk also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Maricopa beat Mountain View 5-2 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.
Like Catalina Foothills, Maricopa also got a great game from a two-way player: Sebastian Lopez. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Lopez also tossed a walk, which is notable because Maricopa is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Will Hawkins was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Catalina Foothills' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Maricopa, their record now sits at 6-10.
Maricopa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Catalina Foothills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Maricopa, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain Catalina Foothills' hitters?
Catalina Foothills took their win against Maricopa in their previous meeting back in March of 2015 by a conclusive 15-1 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
