Deer Valley came tearing into Saturday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Sahuarita Mustangs 4-2.

Gaven McDonald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Carr was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Short, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Deer Valley pushed their record up to 19-8-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Sahuarita, they moved to 19-6-1 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Deer Valley nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
