Volleyball Recap: Grayslake Central Takes Down Carmel in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Grayslake Central walked away with it. They came out on top against the Carmel Corsairs by a score of 2-0 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

Grayslake Central easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19.

Ben Boron paced Grayslake Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Boron got some help from Bryce Tupaz and his 20 assists. Tupaz was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Grayslake Central's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-7. As for Carmel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 19 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-28 record this season.

Grayslake Central will take on Warren Township at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
