Volleyball Recap: Fort Recovery Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parkway, Fort Recovery was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Celina Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 15-25, 25-17, 26-24.

Kayla Gaerke went supernova, getting 28 digs and four aces. Those 28 digs gave her a new career-high. Kenna Dues also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Fort Recovery was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive games.

Fort Recovery's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Celina, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Fort Recovery and Celina will both be playing New Bremen the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will host the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
