Dynamic duo of Joseph Bruce and Robert Magner lead Pine Lake Prep to victory

The Pine Lake Prep Pride entered their tilt with the Langtree Charter Lions with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Pine Lake Prep blew past Langtree Charter 77-54. Given Pine Lake Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Langtree Charter is ranked 581st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Pine Lake Prep to victory were Joseph Bruce and Robert Magner. Bruce scored nine points along with five steals, while Magner scored 15 points along with two steals and two blocks. Bruce is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brennan Greene, who scored eight points along with two steals.

Pine Lake Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Langtree Charter, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-23.

Pine Lake Prep will head out on the road to challenge Corvian Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Corvian Community is on a ten-game streak of home wins, Pine Lake Prep a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Langtree Charter, they will head out on the road to take on Community School of Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Langtree Charter is coming into the matchup with 20 straight defeats on the road, meaning Community School of Davidson will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
