Baseball Game Preview: Northridge Vikings vs. Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies

Northridge is 1-9 against Johnstown-Monroe since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Johnnies at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Northridge has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, Northridge didn't have quite enough to beat Zanesville and fell 2-1.

Collin Matheson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Johnstown-Monroe and Licking Heights had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Johnnies took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets on Thursday. Johnnies fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Hornets since Thursday.

Johnstown-Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Northridge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Everything went Northridge's way against Johnstown-Monroe in their previous matchup back in April, as Northridge made off with an 11-2 win. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Johnnies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
