Basketball Recap: Goodwin Tech Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

If Prince RVT wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Goodwin Tech, they should've done a better job of containing Nazir Russell. The Goodwin Tech Gladiators walked away with an 81-71 victory over the Prince RVT Falcons on Wednesday thanks in part to Russell, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. His evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Mi'Anjel Velazquez was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Despite the loss, Prince RVT still got an impressive performance from Jordan Iverson, who almost dropped a double-double on 38 points and nine boards. That was a full 53.5% of Prince RVT's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Ikeh, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.

Goodwin Tech's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points per game. As for Prince RVT, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
