Baseball Recap: Wautoma Comes Up Short

Wautoma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers.

Wautoma saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another was Brady Abitz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Wautoma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wautoma will venture away from home to face off against Almond-Bancroft at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, they will head out to square off against Pacelli at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
