Basketball Recap: Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Comes Up Short

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 53-35 to the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for New Ulm Cathedral, they moved to 2-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will face off against Madelia at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for New Ulm Cathedral, they will head out on the road to square off against Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
