Basketball Recap: Adynn Wheeland Key Part of a Team Effort in Mountie Win

North Penn-Liberty won the last time they faced Canton and things went their way on Thursday too. The North Penn-Liberty Mountie enjoyed a cozy 63-48 victory over the Canton Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountie.

North Penn-Liberty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adynn Wheeland, who went 10 of 21 on his way to 28 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Wheeland a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Mctish, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards.

Defeat or not, Canton got some senior leadership from Ben Fitch and Talin Williams. Fitch shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards, while Williams went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and three blocks. That was a full 52.1% of Canton's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

North Penn-Liberty now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Canton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

North Penn-Liberty will face off against Sayre at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sayre is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. As for Canton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-18 loss against Troy on the 11th.
