Softball Recap: Lakeside Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lakeside Christian entered their tilt with Cambridge Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Cambridge Christian Lancers. Ten seems to be a good number for the Lions as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jamisen Rheintgen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Lex Mello was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. She also got three hits, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Christine Trofemuk, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Lakeside Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Cambridge Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Lakeside Christian will square off against Seven Rivers Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside Christian is facing Seven Rivers Christian at the right time seeing as Seven Rivers Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cambridge Christian, they have already played their next match, a 9-8 win against Carrollwood Day on the 28th.
