Basketball Recap: Arapahoe Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Arapahoe won the last time they faced Overland and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the Arapahoe Warriors' way against the Overland Trailblazers as the Arapahoe Warriors made off with a 75-50 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Gianna Smith, who went 14 for 20 to rack up 41 points along with five assists and five boards. Those 41 points gave her a new career-high. Izzy Johnston was another key player, going 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and three steals.

Smith wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Arapahoe was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Overland only posted five assists.

Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michaela Halton, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Halton has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ilaisaane Davis, who posted 13 points.

Arapahoe is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Overland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-5.

Arapahoe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-41 defeat against Grandview on the 31st. As for Overland, they have also already played their next match, a 46-38 loss against Eaglecrest on the 31st.
