Volleyball Recap: De Beque Dragons vs. Vail Mountain Rangers

De Beque was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vail Mountain Rangers. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

De Beque couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Vail Mountain a tough time in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 31-29, 23-25, 25-12, 25-11.

Avery Rigsby paced De Beque's offense, picking up 14 kills. Rigsby got some help from Ileeyah Herrera and her six assists. Finally, Rigsby was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

De Beque's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Vail Mountain, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, De Beque and North Park will shake off the rust and duke it out at 12:00 p.m. on the 3rd. As for Vail Mountain, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coal Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on the 7th.
